Ski and Ride Season
kicked-off on December 12th. We have
already had natural snow in Wintergreen and the
Blue Ridge Mountains. Wintergreen has been busy
getting ready for this year’s ski and ride
season.

NEW: Stop by the Java
Depot in Beech Grove for an early breakfast.
They will be opening early for ski season. They
will be opening at 6:30AM for a hot dine-in
breakfast, muffins and scones. Or grab a
breakfast sandwich to go. Also, they will be
selling Discount Ski Tix at the Java Depot.
Pick up your lift tix while enjoying
breakfast—ample parking available! (You pick
up your discount pass at the Java Depot and then
trade it for a lift ticket at the Ski Center in
Wintergreen. Great savings!)

Season Weather
With the upcoming start of
Ski & Ride Season in Wintergreen Resort,
everyone wants to know about the Nelson County
weather.
Q: Where do the locals get
their weather forecast?
A: Locals go to
www.NelsonCountyLife.com Tommy posts the
local weather every day and even does an audio
guide to Nelson County weather. If you are
planning a visit to Wintergreen Resort, be sure
to check out the weather forecast used by the
locals to Nelson County.
Q: Where is the
thermometer located for the temperature posted
on the Wintergreen Resort web site? (www.WintergreenResort.com
A: That is located on
Devil’s Knob Loop—one of the highest points in
Wintergreen.
Remember that it is usually
15-18 degrees colder in Wintergreen Resort than
many mid-Atlantic metro areas. Bring your
jackets!
Zip
Line Opening
Yes! Wintergreen Resort
now has a Zip Line Adventure Course! The Zip
Line opens on Saturday, December 19th
at 2PM. Tickets will be sold at The Dome.
Ridgely’s Fun Park Again This Year!
Ridgely’s Fun Park opens on
December 19th. This popular snow
park is for the kids. Ridgely’s will be open
each weekend and on holidays from 10AM-6PM. Buy
your tickets on line or at The Dome.

Holiday Events in WTG
This is only a taste of
what Wintergreen has planned for this year’
Mountain Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
December 23rd:
Family holiday fun including cookie decorating,
story reading, ornament decorating and Santa.
There are also Teddy Bear Tuck-ins with Ridgely.
December 24th:
Look out for Santa on the slopes of
Wintergreen. There will be a special Christmas
Eve buffet at the new Copper Mine Bistro. Take
a family photo in front of the Christmas Tree at
the Ballroom before the annual Christmas Eve
Worship.
December 25th:
Celebrate Christmas on the slopes are in one of
Wintergreen’s restaurants. The Copper Mine
Bistro will be serving a special Christmas
dinner.
December 26th:
Take time off the slopes for craft workshops and
a family movie, Polar Express
December 28th:
Winter Carnival at Discovery Ridge: Music,
balloons, sno-cones, bonfire, face painting and
family games
December 31st:
Parties for adults and for kids. I will be
posting more information about New Year’s Eve
shortly.
