Extreme Ski & Ride Season…
The snow is piling up in
Wintergreen, and the resort plans to be skiing
until late March. I hope that you will join us
for the best Ski & Ride Season in decades.
Extreme Ski & Ride Season
Wintergreen Resort has
received more than 80 inches of snow since late
December. This is the most snow on record in
the past 20 years. It has been an amazing Ski &
Ride Season. Wintergreen has 100% of their
slopes open with an average of a 60 inch snow
base.
Lodging has been booked
solid every weekend. If you are looking for
lodging, consider staying in a Nelson County
B&B. There are many B&Bs close to Wintergreen
Resort. Find a list of lodging options at

Now is the time to book
your lodging for late February and March. Yes,
we will still be skiing in March. Visit

Make Reservations For…..
Now is also the time to
book your tickets for The Plunge and for
Ridgely’s Fun Park (snow park for kids). You
can book those tickets in advance at
www.WintergreenResort.com. I highly advise
for you to book these tickets in advance because
they do sell out.
If you would like to dine
at the new Copper Mine Bistro, I also recommend
dinner reservations. Make your reservations by
calling 434-325-8090. The new Bistro has a
Mediterranean menu including risotto, pasta and
flat bread pizza.
The Kid’s Tree House
continues its great kids programs for Ski & Ride
Season. This is the year to teach your kids how
to ski or ride. Space is limited in the Tree
House programs. Visit

My Advice…
My best advice for this
Extreme Ski & Ride Season is to arrive in the
resort early. Arrive and park by 8AM. To find
the best parking, look for the Wintergreen
Parking Team in the bright yellow vests. They
will point you to the next available parking
area. The Wintergreen Shuttle is free and you
may be asked to park away from the slopes and
ride the shuttle. If you are staying in a WTG
condo, please consider leaving your car at the
condo and taking the shuttle to the ski area.
Arrive early, rent your
gear or buy your lift tickets and then have
breakfast. If you are looking for breakfast,
visit the Copper Mine Bistro for a hot breakfast
or the General Store, in the Mountain Inn, for
muffins and bagels. The slopes open to the
public at 9AM.
If you are visiting for the
day and don’t plan to ski, there is open seating
available in the Pryor’s Porch area and in the
Gristmill area of the Mountain Inn. The seating
in The Edge is for those eating lunch or dinner
from The Edge menu.
Please pre-arrange a
meeting spot and time for your family and
friends.
Weekend Theme Events
Wintergreen has done an
excellent job planning theme weekends for Ski &
Ride Season. Last weekend’s College Weekend was
a great success and the MLK holiday weekend has
been fantastic. There are many more events
planned for the rest of Ski & Ride Season. Here
are just some of the activities planned:

Slope Side Dining
I have received several
emails about dining options that are slope-side
in Wintergreen. Wintergreen has many dining
options. Some of the options are only open
during Ski & Ride Season.
Seasonal dining options
include:
Blue Ridge Terrace Grill
Our outdoor American grill featuring freshly
grilled hamburgers, foot long hotdogs and
chicken sandwiches. Seasonal draft beer is
available along with heart warming mixed
beverages.
Checkerberry Cabin
Start the day with a hot chocolate and warm
cinnamon bun then lunch on the deck with a menu
featuring barbecue, hot pretzels, apple cider,
and draft beer.
Pryors Cafeteria
Offering freshly grilled burgers and dogs, hot
pizza, the best French fries on the mountain,
assorted sandwiches and for the kids (or the kid
at heart), chicken tenders! Pryor's is also a
great place for a hot chocolate and a warm up in
between runs.
The Grill at The Lookout in Discovery
Ridge
The Lookout is open during the winter months
with the best panini sandwiches. Also offered
are traditional favorites of burgers and dogs as
well as your favorite beverages.
Plus the Gristmill Bar is now open on
Friday and Saturday afternoons. This bar is
located in the Mountain Inn. The bar serves all
your favorite beverages, including some great
hot chocolate. Sandwiches, cheese platters and
salads are also served.
Coffee & Hot Chocolate
I have received many emails this season about
the location of the best coffee and hot
chocolate. Many have noticed that the Gristmill
Coffee Shop is now the Gristmill Bar.
The General Store, located in the Mountain
Inn, now serves Starbucks drip coffee. They
have at least three Starbucks flavors a day and
open early. The General Store also now has
tables for a quiet break. You can enjoy several
snacks from their coffee bar.
The Pryor’s Porch Cafeteria also serves
coffee and hot chocolate daily. The Gristmill
Bar is now open on Friday and Saturday
afternoons, and they have awesome hot chocolate
for $2.

Wintergreen Resort Premier
Properties is the official real estate office of
Wintergreen Resort. We are located in the
Mountain Inn and are open seven days a week,
9AM-5PM.
What’s going on with
Wintergreen Resort real estate? We have seen a
bounce in sales in Wintergreen Resort in the
past six weeks. So, if you are considering
buying a property in Wintergreen, now is the
perfect time to buy. I also have some condos
and homes that are offering Owner Financing.

Prices are still great for
buyers in the resort and in Nelson County. A
one bedroom or studio condo is possible under
$120K. The resort also has some detached homes
priced under $300K. New construction is also
available with choices of building lots. There
are also a few foreclosures and short sales

These prices will not last
long. Once the current inventory is gone,
prices will begin to increase again. It’s
“supply and demand”. Wintergreen has an
inventory of listed property from our recent
national recession. With the contracts we have
seen already in 2010, this inventory of
value-priced properties will not last long.
The resort’s rental
business is brisk and offers the opportunity to
earn investment income from resort properties.
Wintergreen is a year-round resort with a 365
day rental business.
