$10 Off Lift Tix
& Other Coupons
Today’s blog story is
a short one, but I think it has one of the best
tips of the year. If you are looking for
Wintergreen Resort discount coupons, sign up for
the resort’s new e-Club. When you sign up, you
immediately receive an email with a $10 off
coupon for lift tix. You can use the coupon
through the end of ski season. As the resort
creates new coupons, you will also receive those
by e mail. Go to
www.WintergreenResort.com and click on the
e-Club logo on the home page.
The Real Estate
Scene in Wintergreen & Nelson County
Real estate in Nelson
and Wintergreen is showing some signs of life.
Houses and condos are under contract to close in
March.
I am always receiving
calls and emails from possible buyers that are
wondering when we are going to reach the “bottom
of the market”. My answer always is that we
will not know that we have hit the bottom until
we start the climb up. It is too early to know
if we are in an upward climb, but our office is
a lot busier than we were in December and
January. That is an excellent sign. So, if you
are a buyer, and you are considering home
ownership in Wintergreen or Nelson County, now
is the time to act. Don’t miss the opportunity
to take advantage of great prices and low
interest rates.
We have condos listed
for sale under $200,000, homes listed under
$400,000 and building lots under $100,000.
Visit my web sites at
www.ExperienceWintergreen.com and
www.ExperienceNelsonCounty.com to see all of
the local listings. I update the listings on
both of these sites every morning.
Spring Fever in
Nelson County
We love ski season in
Nelson County, but by early March, we are
thinking of Spring. I have received several
questions about Spring activities over the last
two weeks. That is a sure sign that everyone is
getting Spring Fever. As the season changes, I
will be blogging about hiking, golf, tennis,
swimming, fishing, camping and many more outdoor
subjects.
Here are just a few of
the recent questions and their answers:
Q: When will
Devil’s Knob Golf open?
A:
The Devil’s Knob golf course usually opens in
early to mid April. Keep in mind that you can
play golf year-round on the Stoney Creek course.
Q: Is there
camping in Nelson County?
A:
Yes, the Crabtree Falls Campground is open
year-round and the Montebello campground usually
opens in April.
Q: Where can
I get a trail map for Wintergreen Resort hiking
trails?
A:
Visit the Wintergreen Resort Premier Properties
office for a free hiking map. Some of the
resort’s hiking trails are still closed for the
Winter due to ice. Please watch for and obey
“closed” signs.
Q: Will
Wintergreen Resort have special activities
planned for Easter?
A:
Yes, there will be a full weekend of activities
planned, including the popular Copper Mine
Easter Brunch. Make reservations for lodging
and brunch now.
Q: When will
be Nellysford Farmer’s Market open?
A:
The Farmers Market will be open each Saturday,
starting in May.
Hikers Wanted
Last Spring, I started
posting blog stories about the many hiking
trails in Nelson County. By popular request, I
am going to post additional stories this year
and also create a booklet of stories about area
hiking trails. If you like to hike, please
consider sending me a review of a Nelson County
hiking trail—or the Appalachian Trail as it
crossed Nelson County. I can be reached at
kim@ExperienceNelsonCounty.com PS: I am
also looking for photographs taken on area
hiking trails.
Happy
Anniversary to the Blog!
Well, I have been
writing blog stories every morning for a year.
Actually, it has been 458 stories about Nelson
County and Wintergreen Resort over the year.
Many of the past
stories are in a library in my Blog Archive.
The Blog Archive is free and you don’t have to
register to read and use the information. The
archive can be found at both
www.ExperienceNelsonCounty.com and
www.ExperienceWintergreen.com. The
stories are divided into library subjects.
In the past year, we
have taken the Nelson County Wine Tour (a few
times), welcomed two new micro-breweries to the
county, listed to live music, visited the
farmer’s market, played golf, swam in lakes,
camped, hiked, skied, browsed real estate and
eaten in many restaurants. Our family has
really enjoyed both the adventure and collecting
information for the blog. I have enjoyed
receiving your questions, comments and feedback.
We have lots of
adventure planned for the next year, including a
trek down all 400+ miles of the Blue Ridge
Parkway. So, if you love the Blue Ridge
Mountains, Nelson County and Wintergreen Resort,
keep reading the blog every day. I will be up
at 6AM posting it for you.
Read the blog every
morning at either
www.ExperienceWintergreen.com or
www.ExperienceNelsonCounty.com. Click on
the Blog link on the left navigation bar.
Reading the daily blog is a great way to learn
about the county or to hear about resort
activities.
