Festival: Nelson County has become
known for its brew and now for the live music.
Celebrate both in Wintergreen Resort on the Blue
Ridge Terrace for Memorial Weekend. The Battle
of the Blues Bands is on Saturday May 23rd from
11AM-6PM. A special live performance by Jonell
Moser from 7PM-9PM. Jimmy O will be playing at
The Edge from 9:30PM to Close.
Sunday, May 24th: Blues on
the Blue Ridge Terrace from 11AM-6PM with a
special Live Performance by Jonell Moser from
2PM-4PM.

Farmer’s Markets
in Nelson
The Nelson County Farmer’s
Markets have opened for the season. Markets are
now open in Nellysford, Schyler, Piney River and
Afton.
Nellysford: This morning,
we visited the 2009 Grand Opening of the
Nellysford Farmer’s Market. This market grows
every year. There is now live music, wine
tastings, local coffee and a chef with demos
using local food. Open every Saturday from
8AM-Noon on Rt. 151 in the heart of Nellysford.
Lovingston: Every
Wednesday afternoon, starting at 3PM, in the
parking lot of the public library. Many of your
favorite farmers from Nellysford will be at this
market.
Schuyler: The NEW Schuyler
Farmer’s Market opens on May 9th and
will be open every Saturday until October. Open
8:30-12:30 in the Community Center and Walton’s
Museum parking lot.
Piney River: Visit the
Saunder’s Farm Market on Rt. 56. Don’t forget
to try their incredible homemade ice cream.
They also have a wide selection of their private
label jams, jellies, salsas and pickles. These
make a great gift basket. This market opens in
JUNE.
Afton: Stop by the farm
market at amFog on Rt. 151 in Afton. This
indoor market has many local favorites,
including bread and eggs.
