November News from Wintergreen Resort and Nelson County
We are busy getting ready for the holiday & ski season in Nelson County and Wintergreen Resort. It can be up to 18 degrees cooler in the mountains compared to metropolitan areas. So, we are already wearing our winter jackets in Wintergreen and talking about snow.
First Snow
On Nov 9th two inches of new snow fell on Wintergreen. Let’s hope it’s a sign of a snowy winter at the slopes. The picture is by Jane Carlson and is available on the web. Click the image for a link.
Thanksgiving Weekend
Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the busiest weekends in Nelson County and it is the kick-off to the holiday season (and maybe even ski season)
If you have not made reservations for a condo house or cabin, do it today. The Experience Nelson County web site now has two rentals—one is a cabin on the Tye River and one is a ski-side condo in Wintergreen.
Thanksgiving Events:
Wednesday Night: Wintergreen Resort Premier Properties will be hosting a Welcome party in the Mountain Inn lobby from 4PM-7:30PM. Stop by for a glass of wine or hot chocolate.
Wednesday Night: Pick up an Open House Guide in the Mountain Inn lobby. Many properties will be open for tours over the holiday weekend.
Thursday: Make reservations for a traditional Thanksgiving feast at any of Wintergreen’s restaurants. Call now or click on www.wintergreenresort.com for information and menus.
Friday: The Seasons will host a Meet the Builder Party in the new Seasons model home from noon-4PM. Stop by and meet The Seasons team and enjoy some great refreshments with both adult and kid beverages.
Saturday: Stop by the Mountain Inn lobby for some free apple cider and cookies, sponsored by Wintergreen Resort Premier Properties from 1PM-4PM
Saturday: Wintergreen kicks off the holiday celebration with the Grand Illumination, craft work-shops for kids and adults and the Mountain Inn will be decked out with many decorated trees and wreaths. Check out the Wintergreen Resort web site for a full list of activities.
New Neighborhood: Construction on The Seasons is now well underway. Stop by the new neighborhood site in Wintergreen Resort. (on the corner of Wintergreen and Blue Ridge Drives) Two of the townhouses will be under roof within the next week. We had over 200 people attend the Seasons BBQ over Memorial Day weekend.
