My family settled in what was to become Nelson
County in the 1700's. The county seat, Lovingston
was later named after my ancestor, John Loving. My
career took me far from the serenity of Nelson
County and to Washington DC. It was a weekend trip
to visit family that brought me back to this
beautiful county. At first, it was only a weekend
retreat, but it soon became our full-time home.
Nelson County and the
Wintergreen Resort have something for everyone.
Condos next to ski slopes or champion golf,
mountain cabins and farms. Outstanding skiing,
hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, wine tours and
amazing Blue Ridge Mountain views. It is also
only thirty minutes from all the activities of
Charlottesville, VA.
